Connie in Quilting

I'm home from my annual trek to the Houston Quilt Show.  I've been back a while, but I'm slow to blog. I arrived on Wednesday and Diane picked me up at the airport. We rushed off to Benji's for their fabulous Cobb Salad for lunch.

After lunch we did a little shopping.  Then we found Sally and got all settled at our hotel.  We met up with my Aunt and Uncle and had another delicious meal at a Mexican Restaurant. If I had a memory, I could tell you the name.

Thursday was the first day at the show.  Here's the first celebrity sighting.

Illinois Album and Jane Sassman with the Innovative Artistry Award.

I fell in love with this one.

Look at the colors.  Look at the applique. Look at the quilting.  It is "Journey Toward Notan" by Jean Freestone.

There was a special exhibit called Hazel's Legacy.  All the quilts in the exhibit were made by Hazel Canny.

She has made over 50 quilts since 1971 and her specialty is whole cloth quilts.

Really amazing work.
